The Internet is Really Really Great…..for Porn
Another week, another pair of stories about the sexual follies of teachers in Washington State. The first comes from the November 13th edition of the Spokesman-Review (no online access available), and it’s way too familiar a story:
Down in Richland it’s a decidedly more pedestrian bit of lechery as 58-year old music teacher Allan Eve is arrested for having sex with one of his students in the band closet.

I take these things kind of personally. The sexual escapades of men like these make all male teachers look bad, and for a guy like me who works in the primary grades that’s poison. To hell with both of them.
A teacher who used Rogers High School computers to talk about his fantasies of having sex with—and even raping—teenagers is still being paid a year after he was removed from the classroom.Perhaps the saddest part of this story is that Mr. Perkins is an openly homosexual teacher in a town where that’s way too rare. In a city where the late Jim West and Richard Curtis both threw away their political careers and contributed to a general air of homophobia, Perkins could have been a powerful role model. Instead he plays right into the most horrific of stereotypes about gay men, and that’s a damned shame.
Social studies teacher Peter Perkins was sent home a year ago today. His salary and benefits have cost taxpayers nearly $69,000 since then.
Spokane Public Schools documents allege that Perkins photographed and twisted the nipples of bare-chested high school boys in a bathroom, wrote about his fantasies of raping a student, engaged in explicit online chats using district computers, and downloaded graphic files titled “Teen Muscle Boy” to a publicly owned computer. In all, there were 13 allegations of misconduct.

To hell with you, you judgemental prick. You read a newspaper story and you assume everything you read is a fact. You can't possibly seem to imagine that a homophobic newspaper and school district can smear the record of an excellent teacher and then distort the facts to make him look bad. Maybe if you knew Peter Perkins you wouldn't be so quick to judge him based on a biased story in the newspaper. Ever hear of a witch hunt? You think that Spokane is an easy place for a Gay teacher to be out. Maybe you should have watched the Frontline episode that he was in. He was the only one who had the balls to come out in that city of over 2,000 teachers and look what they did to him. He never molested a child or had sexually explicit chats with a child. He had chats with adults who were telling him about their experiences growing up and he accidentally transferred a folder with them to his laptop computer during the summer. He never looked at them on his school laptop and he never used school computers to conduct the chats. You want to crucify him for making a mistake? Where is your common sense? Have you no decency to check out your facts before condemning another person?

1) I did see him in the Frontline episode about Jim West (which was brilliant TV, for anyone who hasn't seen it), which is why in the original post I talked about how hard it is to be a gay teacher in a town like Spokane. Even the liberals here tend to run socially conservative. You didn't read what I typed very closely.
2) Accidentally transferred to his laptop? Really? That's the argument you want to make?
Let's grant for a moment that he could well have brought his laptop home to do some school work; I do that myself frequently. If he networked it to his home PC, then he's already made a mistake. If he had the incriminating evidence on his flash drive, and "accidentally" took the files off the flash drive and onto his school laptop, game over.
Finally, I have no decency for a variety of other reasons, but not this one here. I commented on the Spokesman story, which is sort of what I do here on the blog. If you have another side that you want to get out there, use my email and I'll be happy to hear you out.

Talk about a small world. I live in Belfast Northern Ireland and I was affected by this bastard too. Perkins is now in Indonesia most likely raping Indonesian boys. He destroyed a friendship that I had with a young man (23years old) named Herry. I was Herry's pen pal but because Herry looked younger than 23 Perkins the Perv moved in and manipulated the situation. You should see his website Native Bead Art Perkin's and Herry's pics are there and Perkins has children all around him. Makes me sick because I know he has destroyed a real sweet innocent person (Herry) and God knows what he has done with his younger brother and other kids in Balikpapan. I have tried to get as much info as possible to forward to as many embasies as possible so this creep will not get visas to go and rape other teens and kids in 3rd world countries. Any new info that you have on this perv would be great. Especially if some of his victims (I mean former students) are about to talk!
