This is happening all too frequently. What would happen to a young person (student) if they assaulted a store clerk, a fireman, the principal, or a policeman? What happened to equal rights under the law? Assault is a crime. Prosecution of the person committing the crime should be the same. There are laws that protect students from assault by teachers, rightfully so, but that same law is supposed to guarantee the same protection for teachers assaulted by students. Where are the teachers' unions when it comes to unsafe environment(s) for teachers?
