More Fuel for the "Brown for Governor" Bandwagon

Blame the Sales Tax: Legislature’s Democrats Cannot Agree on New Revenue :: Olympia Newswire: "In the state’s upper chamber, Senate Majority Leader Lisa Brown, D-Spokane, like Chopp, is also hugely dissatisfied with the state’s tax system. She has shown real leadership by consistently pushing to implement a state income tax on the wealthy. Brown has also been the most important legislative advocate for the Working Families Tax Rebate. Modeled on the federal Earned Income Tax Credit, the Rebate is a tax refund for the poorest two-fifth’s of the state’s residents. Brown and other Rebate supporters believe that the program will offset the regressiveness of raising the sales tax."
